Part 1
Eigengrau stood unblinking in front of Rebecca Montague. She had held up her end of the deal, helping to kill Amaranth Liddell, this time for good, so she supposed she must hold up her end, even if the deal was made by her idiotic Apprentice.
"Well?" Rebecca asked again, growing impatient.
"I can ponder, Rebecca." Eigengrau responded. "But I have obtained the cure. Not here, though."
Rebecca's eyes grew wide. "Really?"
Eigengrau smiled broadly, revealing her jagged shark teeth. She reached into her robe and pulled out several small bottles, each one a different pastel colour. She set them on the table, and then pulled out the Book of Fates from her robe.
"Before you agree to the entire cure, perhaps some context is required." Eigengrau stated flatly.
"Trying to dissuade me after all the trouble you went to?" Rebecca asked.
"No, it's a divergence point isn't it, Master?" Sirene responded, speaking up. Seeing Eigengrau nod, she continued. "I'm guessing your remaining lifespan is going to vary greatly depending on how much of the cure you accept."
Eigengrau grinned again. "My Apprentice is completely correct. So, Rebecca Astrid Montague, what will it be?"
"I've waited over a century for this. I don't care if I die a week from now, at least I'll die a human and not a monster." Rebecca said with no hesitation.
Eigengrau flipped to Rebecca's page in the Book of Fates once the divergence point was set, and looked at the death date. 40 years from now. Inwardly, she was smiling, but outwardly she betrayed no emotion.
"Hmm." Eigengrau said, a small smirk on her face. "It seems a certain other Goddess wants to be the one to do this. We cannot do this here in the Inn. I will meet you at Gustav's workshop."
