Part 1
Taenya was tending her gardens like any other day, in spite of her great-aunt's final victory in the civil war. Crown Princess? Who cares about titles like that. Taenya just needed her gardens. Of course, that didn't stop her from being assigned a growing number of Rangers to guard her. Maybe if Syndra remarried they'd stop fussing over her.
"Princess, there's someone here to see you."
Of course. The Rangers wouldn't go away so she put them to work as her secretaries. All the various nobles constantly kissing her ass now that she was important were always frightened off by some stone faced Rangers.
"Who is it this time?" Taenya asked, not even looking up from the seedling she was working on. "Another noble?"
"If only it were that simple. She gives off a threatening aura and when we told her to leave she laughed at us and dared us to try." The Ranger replied. "Lord Xilro took one look at her and hasn't come out of his tower all morning."
All morning? That got Taenya's attention. "How long has she been here?"
"Several hours. She said she won't leave until she gets to speak with you, and with Miss Shotbolt."
The Divine Professor? Could it be? Taenya got up and turned around. "Did she give a name?"
"No, oddly enough. Said we weren't important enough to know it." The Ranger said. "Never heard of a noble this full of themselves."
Shit. It was. Taenya started running towards the University buildings immediately. "That's because she's not a noble, she's a God!"
The Ranger's face paled, before starting to run to keep up with Taenya. Taenya was already wracking her brain, which God would be brazen enough to come to the University and start a commotion instead of just going to see who they wanted to talk to?
"What do you fucking mean, a God?" The Ranger practically shouted, keeping pace with Taenya.
"Not so loud!" She yelled back. "But yes, a God!"
"How are you so sure?" The Ranger asked, but as they neared the main campus he could already feel a threatening aura.
"Who else would want to speak with Shotbolt? The woman's a mess at the best of times." Taenya offered, starting to slow down as she could feel the immense aura pushing back at her. "What is that?"
"You feel it too, huh? Not just my imagination?" The Ranger asked, stopping in his tracks. "Go on without me. I got a feeling only you're supposed to be there."
Taenya was surprised the Ranger was letting her go alone, but didn't want to argue. She stopped walking for a moment and thanked him, before breaking back into a light jog toward the main buildings.
