Part 5
Lord Xilro finally staggered into the staff room hours later, looking bleary eyed and tired, like he hadn't rested in days.
"She finally leave." He said, collapsing into his seat.
"You look pretty done in, Xilro. What happened?" Taenya asked.
"Horrible woman with horrible ideas." Xilro answered. "Too much touch."
Taenya's eyes grew wide and she rushed to change the subject before anyone else caught on.
"So, Sarah, care to get everyone up to speed on our new school of magic?" Taenya asked.
"Yes, I've read over the notes Lady Neptis left us, and it seems straightforward enough. It's fueled by blood, like a fireplace is fueled by wood. Whose blood doesn't seem to be important, just that there's blood." Sarah started. "Central to it appears to be sigils instead of just casting, which already makes it different from most schools of magic."
"Do we have any example spells?" Walter Gibbs, the Displacement Professor asked.
"That wouldn't be Neptis. She hated giving examples, even when she was a Professor." Taenya replied, sighing. "'Figure it out yourself' is what she told us when I asked, and she liked me."
"Always terrible Professor. Why even take position?" Xilro said, shaking his head. "Still not worst Professor, though. Still Sirene Ignitis."
"So how are we handling this for now?" Bartram Drayton the Air Magic Professor asked.
"Sarah will be teaching Blood Magic for now, as a subset of Divine Magic. Until we figure it out ourselves, we'll be telling students it's a subset of divine magic, which isn't technically wrong." Headmaster Lutz replied.
