King Xolarand

Vordea laughed and laughed as the demons told her of the usurper King's attempts to get them to help him. She knew Syndra would be a very entertaining, and this proved her right.

"He actually brought up the amulet?" Vordea asked between tears of laughter.

"Oh, the look on his face when I told him Syndra gave it back to us a week earlier was priceless, my lady. If only you could have been there!" Xalgaman barked, laughing as well. "He's completely furious, and he has no allies. So he tried to bring up the fact she stole from us before."

"Tell her tell her the best part!" King Xolarand said, tears streaming down his face.

"He promised us positions of power in his court!" Xalgaman said, on the floor holding his stomach, tears streaming down his face.

Vordea's laughter only intensified, and soon she was collapsed on the floor with Xalgaman, struggling to contain her laughter. Eventually, she recovered enough to speak.

"If only that man knew what I had planned for Syndra. He'd just save himself the effort and kill himself."

"So we're helping her then, even with the theft?" King Xolarand asked, still chuckling.

"Oh my, yes. She's going to cause a century long civil war and kill tens of thousands of elves. It'll be glorious!" Vordea replied, laughing again. "The amulet is nothing compared to that. Any request she has, no matter how insane, give it without charge. The thousands of souls she's sending straight to you will be the payment."

"As you wish, Lady Vordea." King Xolarand answered, standing up from his throne and bowing.

"One more thing before I go, Xolarand. Take better care of that amulet this time." Vordea said with a smirk, before walking out of the demon king's palace.

"Well Sergeant you heard her. Anything Syndra wants, she gets. Send her an invitation." King Xolarand said to Xalgaman.

"Right away, my liege." Xalgaman replied, bowing and leaving the throne room.

Xolarand sat on his throne for a long while after Xalgaman left, deep in thought. He was happy to have his favoured treasure back, but Vordea brought up a good point. Just how did Syndra steal it in the first place? He was sure the security was impenetrable, and yet she stole it with ease a thousand years ago, and what's more managed to evade detection the entire time. Where was she hiding all these years? Who was protecting her? Questions for another time, he supposed.
