Part 2

Xellma regarded the wretch in the cage with interest. He groggily looked up at them, and suddenly an idea came to her. She snapped her fingers, and both the cage and chains disappeared. The man looked at her as if she was his saviour, causing her to laugh wickedly.

"Oh no, pathetic wretch. We're going to play a game. If you move even an inch from the boundary of where the cage was, I flay the flesh from your bones." Xellma said, getting closer to him. "Actually, I'll just save myself some time."

Xellma materialized a whip in her hand and in a single smooth motion curled it around his neck, and dragged him upright.

"Tell me worm, what was your sin that you got sentenced?" Xellma demanded. "Out with it!"

"I-I killed him. I didn't mean to-" He began, but was cut off.

"You killed him? A single person? Pathetic. A wastrel shadow of a man, not even fit to be punished." Xellma said, sighing. She placed a taloned hand on his leg and squeezed it until his leg exploded, causing him to scream in pain. "That will be your punishment. I will not heal that leg. No demon will heal that leg. Reflect on your worthlessness, in that you are beneath our notice."

Xellma turned to leave, leaving Xalgaman puzzled, but then she stopped, and returned, and sliced off his other leg.

"Crawl on the ground like the miserable insect you are. Prove that you are worth the notice of your betters!" Xellma shouted at him, but all he did was scream. Annoyed, she slashed his throat so he was no longer capable of even that. "Useless useless useless!" She yelled at him. "You infuriate me! Just rot!"

"Most impressive. You raised his hopes, dashed them, and then destroyed what was left of his pride. Now, he can't even speak out loud to himself." Xalgaman said, resuming his walk.
