Emperor Lazarus
Ironhand 7486, Zimmil Ma
Eigengrau wasn't surprised that it came to this. Lazarus's foresight caused the downfall, and nothing else. The man always was a complete moron, she supposed. Looking around her, the city was exploding in all sorts of destructive magics, and dead Orcs lay everywhere. It seemed the city itself was sinking, despite being in the middle of the continent, which didn't even make sense. Just what did Lazarus do?
As she walked about the city, she noticed a truly sinister magic was at work, something she had thought wouldn't be discovered in this kalpa, a soul snare. It was preventing the dead souls from leaving, but it wasn't profane enough for her to intervene directly, at least not yet. She decided to find Lazarus and force him to explain himself.
Walking through the dying streets of Zimmil Ma, Eigengrau noted the faces of contorted fear, rage, and pain on the faces of the orcs. Just how many of his own people did Lazarus kill in his madness? So many of them died completely terrified, barely understanding the monstrous energies that Lazarus unleashed. She wondered if maybe it was accidental. Arriving at the source of the madness, she confronted the Last Orcish Emperor, Lazarus the Insane.
"Lazarus, how did you discover the soul snare." Eigengrau stated, getting right to the point.
"At last! The Empress of Death arrives to take away the Great Lazarus!" Lazarus responded, laughing heartily. "The soul snare is most ingenious, isn't it? Mighty Lazarus's loyal subjects will guard the ruins long into the future!"
"I had hoped this kalpa would be free of soul magic, but I can take solace in that the knowledge will die with you." Eigengrau icily stated. "I hope you rot in the prison you created, for I will not claim your soul."
"Not even death can stop the magnificent Lazarus! Do your worst, Death God!" Lazarus shouted in response, his hands crackling with lightning.
Eigengrau held out her hands and a staff not seen before or since in this kalpa appeared. "By the Hands of Fate you are bound. By the Tides of Death you are trapped. In the name of the Last Lord of Carcosa, Evangeline Frost, I bind you until the end of time!" Eigengrau shouted, making no attempt to keep her voice flat and steady. "By the symbol of my station, by the power granted to me by Carcosa, you will rot."
As Eigengrau spoke these words, rocks began to fall from the heavens, lasting for long minutes, until at last, Zimmil Ma was buried along with its Mad Emperor.
