Part 3
Back at the University, Neptis was having no luck. Sighing, she opened her eyes.
“It doesn’t seem she wants to respond.”
“So what do we-” Demeter was interrupted as reality split open and Vordea appeared in the room in a surge of power.
“Well, what do we have here?” Vordea asked. “A dragon, an elf, a spirit pretending to be a human, a human, a dwarf, and my Little Neptis.” Vordea strode over to the Head of Water Magic. “Hmph. Your disguise might have worked on them, but I can smell you. Begone, spirit.” Vordea grabbed his head, and pulled it off. He dissolved into a pile of ash.
Vordea turned to the rest of the Faculty. “Now as for the rest of you, come back in 15 minutes. I need some alone time with my Little Neptis.” Vordea looked at Neptis and a wicked look came over her face.
The rest of the staff quickly left, being more than willing to be away from the powerful Goddess. Once they were alone, Vordea slowly walked over to the terrified Priestess.
“Little Neptis, do you remember the pact you made with me all those years ago?” Vordea purred, running her finger through Neptis’s hair. “I made you an Avatar. You put it to good use, I’m not mad.”
“Y-you’re not?” Neptis stammered.
“Oh my, no. You dominated the weak and uplifted the strong. Everything I taught. I’m not here to exact payment, either. Not yet. That will be when you die.”
Relief washed over Neptis’s face, causing Vordea to laugh. “Thank you, my lady. I strive to be of use to you.”
“Don’t thank me just yet.” Vordea said, grabbing hold of Neptis’s arm, crunching the bones with her grip. Neptis screamed. “I’m still angry at you. You broke tenants.” Vordea’s grip tightened and Neptis’s arm snapped in two, splattering the walls with blood.
