Part 4
Xellma decided to deal with Thalassius later, as he appeared to have some sense and moved to protect himself, and instead turned her attention toward the middle aged woman with the oversized hat, Drota.
"You're an intriguing one." Xellma said, flicking her forked tongue as she walked up to Drota. "All Magic, the Magic God if I'm not mistaken."
"Yes." Drota replied, holding her staff between herself and Xellma. "I hold dominion over all forms of magic."
"Except blood!" Neptis called out.
"Except blood." Drota added, sighing.
"And demonic." Xellma also added, flicking her tongue again with an unnerving smile. "Allow me to properly introduce myself."
Xellma moved in very closely to Drota, and whispered into her ear. "I am Xellma, the succubus mistress. The Demon Queen of Hell." Xellma nibbled on Drota's ear, who flinched, but didn't pull away. "I'll give you some personal torture later, if you want."
Xellma pulled back, after flicking her tongue into Drota's ear, which caused even Eigengrau to make a face.
"Quite the introduction." Drota said quietly, wiping her ear. "You were trying to get a reaction out of me, weren't you?"
Xellma frowned. "Well it's no fun when you know what's going on."
Xellma looked over at Thalassius, who flinched immediately. Oh perfect, he was already scared of her she thought, licking her lips. Her tail briefly wrapped around Drota's wrist as she walked away, as if to say she'd come back later, and she walked over to him with a broad smile on her face.
"Xellma, what are you going to do to the poor man?" Sargon asked, crossing his arms and stepping between the two of them.
Ugh, Xellma thought. Sargon always ruined a good time. "Royal Void asked me to introduce myself to 2 new Inner Gods, to make sure they aren't easily scared."
"I don't trust you." Sargon said, frowning.
"Sargon, this is necessary for their development." Eigengrau stated. "The correct path is the one in which none of us intervene."
"I'll defer to your judgement, Eigengrau." Sargon said after a minute of silence, stepping aside.
"Good." Eigengrau answered.
"Hmmm... yes, the Sea God." Xellma said, coming up close to Thalassius, her tail wrapping around him. "Yes, your name is... oh my. That can't be right."
"Something the matter, Xellma?" Vordea asked, raising an eyebrow.
"His name is wrong. Come." Xellma said, looking quite serious.
Vordea rose and walked over to Xellma, who knelt and whispered in Vordea's ear, causing Vordea to frown.
"Are you sure?" Vordea asked.
"Positively." Xellma said, nodding.
Xellma and Vordea continued to whisper for several more minutes, exchanging glances with Eigengrau and Vaust, leaving the rest of the Gods slightly puzzled, Agbus included.
"What's going on?" Drota asked.
"Demon Names. There's something unique about demons, and the way they see Gods and certain mortals. Two word names just come to them for that person, and every single demon always has the same name for them." Vaust answered, handing Drota an open bottle of beer. "I'm Old Beer, Eigengrau is Dead Fish, Vordea is Royal Void, Agbus is Shining Light, Sargon is Angry Hammer, Zalas is Lusty Love. You're All Magic, based on what Xellma called you a few minutes ago."
"So what's this they're whispering about?"
"Thalassius's name is apparently a cause for concern." Agbus stated.
The other Gods quietly watched as Xellma and Vordea started pulling other demons out of hell, whispering with them, and then sending them away again, much to Vordea and Xellma's growing annoyance.
"You can't be a reincarnation of a God that isn't dead yet!" Xellma eventually shouted.
"It's not impossible!" Vordea shouted. "Besides, time isn't linear!"
"Like hell it isn't!" Xellma shouted. "Xalgaman even told me demon names don't repeat!"
Vordea screamed in frustration. "Fine! We'll wake me up!"
"Stop!" Eigengrau commanded, knowing exactly what Vordea meant. "I am not dealing with Mira Frost. How about you share with the rest of us what exactly is going on?"
"She couldn't possibly reincarnate idiot!" Xellma shouted at Vordea.
"We may have a... problem." Vordea said quietly, so only Eigengrau and Agbus could hear, gently pushing away Drota. "Corpse King. His name is Corpse King."
"Let's talk with him." Agbus said, gesturing for Thalassius to come over, who did so nervously.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Your demon name has quite obviously become a cause for concern." Agbus said, gesturing at Xellma and Vordea. "So let's have a little... test."
Vordea, Eigengrau, and Xellma looked at Agbus, who smiled.
"I'm going to make mention of a few key phrases and events, and we'll see how he reacts."
"Okay." Thalassius said immediately. "I'd prefer all this attention off me."
"Very well. The War in Heaven. Khaine and Vaul. A rotten world and a heart of guilt. The Last Lord of Carcosa." Agbus started off, to which Thalassius had no reaction. "Interesting. Vordea?"
"Fleet Admiral Mira Frost, of the Demhe Squadron." Vordea stated, to which she noted a small change in him immediately. "Yes, it's her. But not me."
"Meaning?" Eigengrau asked.
"Through sheer random chance, Thalassius's soul has formed into the shape of my creator, the last commander of the last fleet. It is however, not Mira Frost the Corpse King."
"So what do we do? If demons keep calling him that there's going to be questions." Xellma said.
"Simplicity itself. We slightly alter his soul, until the shape is different." Vordea stated, smiling.
