Part 1
It was a month after the final victory over the Usurper King, and Syndra found herself throwing up in a pot first thing in the morning to be a nearly daily occurrence. Just what was going on with her? After he latest round of vomiting, she resolved to visit both a priest and a creation mage.
"You feeling okay, Queenie?" Ryul asked, leaning on the doorway.
"Ryul, when the Baron said I could keep you, I didn't realize he was getting rid of a pest." Syndra moaned between bouts of vomit.
"Just call me diligent. Priest is already on the way, and your servants are badgering a creation mage out in the reception area right now."
"I'll see the Priest first." Syndra said, still moaning.
30 minutes later the Priest arrived, with Syndra still an unsightly mess on the floor, silently wishing for death. Ryul quietly opened the door, and pointed at Syndra, and nodded.
"Oh my, your majesty, you look dreadful." The Priest said.
"I feel even worse." Syndra groaned out.
"Well I can tell right away it's not a curse. You look otherwise healthy besides all the vomit." He continued, kneeling down to look at Syndra. "May I?"
"Priest if it cured me you could fuck me in the ass. Do whatever you want."
Trying to pay Syndra's crude mouth no mind, he gently felt around her lower torso area, then other parts of her body, including her arms and legs. Shaking his head, he stood up again.
"I'm sorry to say but it's nothing I can fix. Maybe the creation mage will have better luck?"
"You did your best." Syndra said, holding her stomach. "Ryul, pay the man."
As Ryul showed the Priest out, the creation mage came in, a look of concern on her face.
"Oh my, Queen Valmaris." She said, looking at her. "I could tell just from looking at you."
"Tell what? That I'm dying?"
The mage leaned down close and whispered in Syndra's ear. "You're pregnant."
"I'm what?"
"She's what?" Ryul asked.
"Ryul I know we never did but if it's yours I'll hang you at the front gates." Syndra moaned.
"Don't be ridiculous, Queenie." Ryul scoffed. "My wife would kill me long before you could. Ummm, you can go now, miss mage. You'll get paid."
The mage bowed, and walked out, leaving Ryul and Syndra to ponder.
"So, it probably happened recently." Ryul started thinking, taking a seat on the floor next to Syndra. "But when? We found you gravely injured after the battle."
"Tarron said something to me, Ryul." Syndra said, realizing something. "Before I passed out, he said the Gods work in mysterious ways."
"Could it be?" Ryul asked. "This is like a fairy tale."
"Ryul I'm a fairy tale." Syndra pointed out. "But if this is the case then a future problem for both myself and Taenya is solved."
"So who are we going to announce as the father?" Ryul posited.
"Why, it was a miracle of the Gods, Ryul!" Syndra said mockingly. "Nobody. But when I get to Hell I'll have words with her. I bet it was her."
"Why wait that long?" A voice from above them said, causing both of them to look up.
