Part 4
Later on, Heather spotted Victoria out in the gardens, crying as usual. He noticed she wasn't following Anton and Marie for a change, but was simply staring out at the lake behind the Manor. Approaching quietly, he went and sat next to Victoria.
Victoria looked over at him, tears pouring down her cheeks, but didn't say anything. Instead, she looked back out over the lake. Heather and Victoria sat in silence for several minutes, before Heather put an arm around Victoria's shoulder. Victoria looked over, but didn't say anything, instead shuffling slightly closer and doing the same. After some time, Heather was the first one to speak.
"I'm sorry." Heather said quietly.
"For what?" Victoria asked, trying to wipe away the constant tears that fell from her eyes.
"Lots of things. For not stopping Rebecca from giving you Anton and Marie. For not paying closer attention to a sick person. For ignoring you for 2 long years." Heather said, listing off events.
"We can't change the past, Heather. What's done is done. Eigengrau told me something, when she came to talk to me." Victoria said. "She said the date of our deaths is set at birth. My life was always going to be short."
"Still, I'm sorry that it ended like that." Heather said.
"I tied the noose for my execution, Heather. All you and Rebecca did was pull the lever. Don't regret my death, because I know I won't be the last one." Victoria advised, giving Heather a kiss on the cheek.
"What do you mean?" Heather asked.
"Rebecca talks out loud to herself when she's alone. About her plans. She really is a villain at heart, she loves monologues, even to herself. The laws she's planning for her Empire are rus inspired." Victoria explained, causing Heather to smile, quite wickedly.
"Oh? She's going to implement rus law? On humans? What a lovely wicked witch of a wife I have." Heather said, laughing. "Yes, I can see it now. An Empire based not on justice like Gilnas, but one based on order."
"I knew you'd like it." Victoria said. "Do me a favour though. Come talk to me more often. It's not like I can abuse them anymore."
"I've still seen you following them around with those lust filled eyes." Heather countered. "I'm surprised I haven't caught you masturbating yet."
"I do that in their bedroom." Victoria said reflexively, before her hands shot up and covered her mouth. "I mean..."
"Relax." Heather said, sighing. "Like you said, you can't abuse them anymore. Maybe a distraction will help you. I'll come speak to you in the afternoons. Out here in the gardens."
"I'd like that." Victoria said, smiling for the first time in years.
