Part 2
It took many months before the chain of events Vaust set in motion resulted in Yurn arriving at his Inn, but there was no rush. The strange animal sightings continued, but they neither grew in intensity nor abated.
”Ah Yurn, is it?” Vaust asked the Templar when he first came up to the counter.
”Yes, I am Yurn. Do you need something?” Yurn asked, intrigued that the Innkeeper knew his name.
”The Templar, correct?” Vaust asked. Yurn nodded, and Vaust continued. “I have a letter for you, from a certain mage.”
”A mage? Really?” Yurn was very interested now. “Which one?”
Vaust leaned in very close, his voice barely above a whisper. “Sirene Ignitis. She insisted only you could solve this.”
Yurn nodded and took the letter. "I'll look it over later in my room, thank you Mister?"
"It's just Innkeeper. I'm part of the scenery." Vaust said with a smile. "Now then, what can I get you to drink? Something to eat perhaps?"
"Right you are!" Yurn said, laughing. "It has been a long journey."
Later, after a hearty dinner and drinks in the dining room below, Yurn carefully opened and unfolded the letter addressed to him, and could only laugh when he saw the page.
"Old Dwarven. Of course she did. Why did I expect anything less of Miss Ignitis? Let's see here..."
Salutations, Sayyid Yurn. I am entrusting this letter into the care of the Innkeeper so that it reaches you in due time. There is a delicate issue that I need you to handle. Neither my patience nor my diplomacy is up to the task. There is a certain mage who lives in the great forest that spans the length and width of the Dragontail Mountains, Gustav the Necromancer. It seems his experiments have been a little too successful, and his creations are getting far too close to the Highway. What I do not want you to do is knock his door in and harm him. He has broken no law, divine or otherwise. I am asking that you have a gentle word with Gustav, and perhaps assist him in moving his workshop deeper into the forest, away from the highway. I will consider this a personal favour, Yurn. Speak with the Innkeeper if you wish to know any further details.
-Sincerely, The Reaper Mage
"Well, this is certainly unexpected." Yurn thought aloud. "But what is a necromancer?"
