Part 2
“Nervous?” Agbus asked Vordea as they walked up to the gates of The University. He was wearing a pure white robe, his right arm locked with Vordea’s left.
“A little. I can’t remember the last time I wore this outfit.” Vordea replied. She was wearing her formal black robe, which flowed all the way to the ground and trailed behind her. Her black gloves rose past her elbows, and she contrasted brilliantly against the pure white of Agbus.
“It looks like we’ve been recognized.” He whispered, pointing at the mages coming towards them.
“Is that a good thing?” Vordea whispered back. “Looks like it’s showtime.”
“Lady Vordea! Lord Agbus! It is beyond an honour to welcome you to our humble University!” One of the mages said, bowing deeply. “What can we do for you?”
Before Vordea could answer, more and more mages began to crowd them, welcoming them and bowing profusely. Choosing to remain silent, Vordea and Agbus let the mages fall over themselves trying to properly welcome them, knowing that eventually the Headmaster would arrive to get this all sorted out. Vordea subtly nudged Agbus when she spotted Demeter finally making his appearance, shoving his way through the throng of mages.
“Disperse! All of you!” Demeter shouted at the mages. “The courtyard is off-limits until further notice!” Demeter snapped his fingers and every mage was instantaneously transported out of the courtyard, and a barrier formed around the two Gods and Demeter.
“Headmaster Demeter, how good to meet you.” Agbus said, breaking the silence. “I believe introductions are an order. I am Lord Agbus, the God of Order.” Agbus bowed slightly. “As I understand it, you have already met my companion, Lady Vordea the Goddess of Change.”
“I am honoured to meet you in person, Lord Agbus.” Demeter replied, bowing. Just treat them like nobles, he thought to himself. “What can The University do for the two of you?”
“We are here to right a wrong I committed some time ago, Demeter.” Vordea responded. “Take us to Neptis at once.”
Demeter couldn't believe it. The decision had just been made for him, by the person who caused it. His shocked face didn't go unnoticed by Vordea.
"Didn't expect that, did you?" Vordea said with a slight smile.
"Can't say that I did." Demeter admitted as he gestured and began to walk with the two Gods, the barrier following them.
Agbus didn't say anything, and merely looked down at Vordea, and took note of her glimmering aura.
