Part 1

"Lady Vordea, the preparations are complete.” Furman Miller, the Head of Displacement Magic at The University held a ledger as he talked. Her black armour seemed to ripple in anticipation. “We are ready whenever you are."

Vordea placed her hand on his shoulder, and looked him directly in the eye. "You have done well, Furman. I will not forget this service you have done for me.”

"I do have one question to ask of you, my Lady." Furman was nervous, but he did want to know this.

"Ask away Furman, you have done well by me so you have earned answers." Vordea said with a smile. "Though I can probably guess what the question is."

"Perhaps. Why is it you’ve grown so much in height in just a few days?” Furman asked. “When you first arrived here you were almost childlike in appearance, but now you’re an adult."

Vordea laughed. "Ah, it’s that, then? That is a side effect of my binding spell. Sealing my powers also caused my physical body to shrink. Now that I have access to my full might again, I am returning to my internal image of self. For a God, our powers determine our size. Does that make sense to you?"

"I believe so. Thank you, my Lady." Furman was bewildered, but thought better than to press her for more questions at the current time.

"Now then, I am ready to leave. Do exactly as I taught you, all of you!" Vordea declared, shouting to the dozens of mages assembled. "At the count of three! One, two, THREE!"

At the shout of three, hundreds of teleportation circles appeared around Vordea, and she vanished in a whirlwind of creatia. Furman looked up into the night sky, to where they sent her, to Luna. He wondered if he would ever see the Goddess again. Part of him hoped he would, but another part hoped she would never darken his doorstep again.
