Part 2
On the road to Dragonpost, Sirene took notice of the soldiers suddenly getting very shouty with each other and all but disappearing from view. She smiled slightly, and shook her head.
“I guess somebody recognized me. Ah well, perhaps for the best.” she thought out loud.
Sirene’s walk to Dragonpost continued without any incident until she arrived at the gates of Dragonpost itself, only to find them shut. She was about to knock on them, when they opened very slightly, enough for a very nervous guardsman from the city guard to come outside the gates, poked by spears from other guards.
“Miss I-Ignitis, I h-hope you understand this isn’t p-personal b-but,” the guard began, stuttering all over.
“Relax, boy. You aren’t in any danger. My reputation is far too overblown. I’m not here about your little city anyway, as intriguing as it is. I’m here about The University. I’ve heard about it in my travels in Tel Hazan, so I decided to come see it for myself.” Sirene softly said, almost melodically.
“Really? You’re here for them?” the guardsman’s face visibly relaxed. “It’s the great big circular stone building outside the city walls, actually. You don’t even need to enter the city!”
“Ah, excellent. Thank you kindly. You were very brave.” she kissed him on the forehead. “Ask her to get married, by the way. She’ll say yes.”
The Guardsman visibly blushed before running back inside the gate, leaving Sirene alone again outside the closed gate. She looked around, and spotted the building the guardsman mentioned off in the distance, perhaps a 45 minute walk away. Whistling a tuneless song, she began walking to it. She was in no hurry, after all.
