Notes on Ghosts

  1. Can be seen and spoken to by Dwarves. Elves can see them but can't hear them. Rusalki and the Fey can hear, see, and touch them
  2. Can't touch anything except Rusalki and the Fey
  3. Humans who've had near death experiences can talk to them but can't see them
  4. Can only move on once the ties that anchor them to the mortal plane are resolved through time or action
  5. Can move through solid objects, but can't move through solid ground
  6. Don't need to sleep, some still like to lay down and just think for a couple hours at night
  7. Eigengrau can't force a ghost to move on until it's ready to
  8. Exorcists can drive them out of places to an extent, but they can't banish them
  9. Almost nobody knows about number 8
  10. Possession is possible, but the ghost has to think to try it
  11. If a ghost's soul is powerful enough, it can permanently possess a living person until the body dies
  12. The person will have no idea they are being possessed, and will think the actions are logical and in character with how they would act
  13. Aren't bound to their place of death

Notes on specific ghosts

Victoria Valorian: Would be the most dangerous horny ghost in history if she ever found out about number 10, would definitely possess children and do depraved things, as is her sex drive has greatly diminished and her tendencies have been redirected into a stalker obsession with Anton and Marie.

Prince Tarron: Has lingered for nearly a thousand years to see through his wife's triumph over the Usurper King, may his name remain forever unremembered. Number 1 is why Syndra can talk to him, as becoming a fairy made her able to speak to ghosts, and she will have that ability for the rest of her life. Usurper King tried to exorcise him from the Palace thousands of times, to no effect
