Notes on Rusalki

  1. Males can just eat regular mortal food, eating humans/dwarves/etc. is optional
  2. Females can only sustain their life force on sapient flesh, will slowly weaken and die otherwise
  3. When males mate with human, dwarf, or elven females, male offspring are always that of the mother, and female offspring are always rusalki
  4. Females born this way require much more milk from their mother, up to 4x more
  5. They also require milk up to 5 years of age
  6. Females born from humans, dwarves, or elves require sapient flesh starting at the age of 7
  7. All born from rusalki females require it from the time they can eat solid food
  8. Preferred method of hunting is to drown victims first, however they will make do if not available
  9. Live up to a maximum of 200 years old
  10. Highest ranking male rusalki is known as the Moonfall Prince, his goal is to mate with mortal women and take rusalki children back to the sunken depths to grow the race
  11. Female rusalki do not mate as often as mortal women
  12. If a mortal woman has lots of children with a male rusalki, she will slowly transform into a rusalki, and when the transformation is complete, she will be compelled with a geis in her soul to drown and eat her eldest non-rusalki child, before going to the sunken depths
  13. Gestation period is always exactly 36 weeks
Male Rusalki

About the height of a human female, they also look identical to humans as a way to blend in. Voice sounds like a woman with a deep voice, somewhere around a Contralto. Described as ethereally beautiful, frequently disguise themselves as women on the mortal plane. Can mate with all of the sapient races.

Female Rusalki

Lifeless white eyes and long black hair are a common feature, much higher voice on average than most other females, always soprano. Preferred method of killing prey is drowning, nobody has ever seen how they actually eat their victims, as they always consume them far underwater. Can only produce children with male rusalki. Some are known to work with the Royal Gilnan Army in the Spiritual Garrison, doing activities unknown. Most view the other sapient races purely as food that talks.
