Marv (23): Small guy, looks kind of like a rat, expert with dagger, could steal the melanin off a dwarf, looks like a Jersey Shore reject
Jack (28): Looks like every white guy ever, water magic master, extremely boring at parties, definitely does fantasy heroin
Heather Dorchaidhe, the Moonfall Prince: Creation mage, quiet voice, slight build, brown hair, has a secret crush on Rebecca, hiding a secret by omission, the secret is she's not a girl and is actually a male rusalka
Jessie Vindicar (17): The most awful person you’ll ever meet, would sell her own mother (and did), basically a fantasy gopnik
Rebecca Montague (143): actual psychopath, vampire, only drinks women’s blood, has a secret crush on Heather, master thief, has known Heather for 10 years and doesn't seem to know Heather is a man; nobody has ever accused Rebecca of being observant
Hamlin DeFountain: Absolute unit, built like a bear, hides all his muscles under his priest robes, big rasputin beard, knows everything
Vicky Valorian (22): very attractive young woman turned into a vampire by Rebecca; Rebecca refuses to comment on why, extremely rich family
Serge (20): Drab, quiet young man turned into a vampire by Rebecca by mistake, Vicky's boyfriend/fiance/husband, depending on who you ask. Soft-spoken, but completely adored by Vicky
Year 772
Marvin (31): Head of Security of the Ashe Manor, takes his job extremely seriously, still looks like a rat, can disappear if you look away for even a second
Jacob O'Malley (36): The Duchess's personal bodyguard at all public events, and Head Butler of the Ashe Manor. uses his skills at water magic to redirect guests away from areas they're not supposed to be, still extremely boring at parties, quit fantasy heroin after the Duchess made him stop
Heather Dorchaidhe, the Moonfall Prince (Age unknown, over 100): Rebecca made him stop dressing like a girl in public, coming to terms with the fact that the Duchess wants tons of kids
Duchess Rebecca Ashe (151, physically 35): the worst kind of noblewoman (a smart one), plans to start a bloody war to unify Southern Karand, definitely Lawful Evil
Hamlin DeFountain (at least 12,000): Everybody just ignores the fact he sleeps in the same room as the Duchess, nobody wants to process that just yet, the very personification of the concept of Order itself
Victoria Valorian (29 at time of death): Personal vampire assassin of the Duchess, has disgusting sex habits that got her killed in 771, hangs around the manor as a ghost; only Heather can see her, much to his annoyance
Sergei Ivanov (28): Husband of Victoria, has grown a backbone, misses his wife but won't admit it, personal vampire spy of the Duchess, very good at speed casting displacement magic
Year 777
Marvin (36): Captain of the Royal Guard, has turned the Ashe Manor into a fortified castle, always knows what's going on at all times, can still disappear in an instant even while wearing plate mail, Rebecca was surprised to learn Marvin doesn't actually have a last name
Jacob O'Malley (41): Like Lurch, just appears instantly if Rebecca calls for him, nobody knows how he does it, not even Rebecca.
Prince Heather (>100): Has fully embraced being the father to 5 children, feels incredibly uneasy around Anton and Marie. Can still produce relevant books from seemingly nowhere if the conversation calls for it, refuses to take the title of King as he's the Prince of the Rusalki
Empress Rebecca Ashe (156, physically 40): Didn't seize the throne and instead made something far more fun. Moved the capital to Lichfield, is in talks with Baron Andrew the current Baron of Thorns to reabsorb the Barony of Thoryn into Lichfield, and form not just a kingdom but an empire, currently pregnant with a 6th child, stores her mana in her breasts as a psychological play.
High Priest Hamlin DeFountain (>12,000): Has finally revealed himself to the Church of the Dead God as their long missing High Priest, with the help of Rebecca has made it the official church of Whitemire.
Victoria Valorian (29 @ Death): Resident ghost of Castle Ashe, only the rusalki can see her, has mellowed out considerably since her death, snoops on every guest to the Castle; doesn't usually say anything to anyone about it though; watches Anton and Marie every night, has weird hobbies, has been warned by Prince Heather to not even think about touching his children or he'll call an exorcist
Sergei Ivanov (33): Spymaster General, commands a network of royal spies for Rebecca, displacement magic master, is capable of teleporting anywhere in Castle Ashe without needing line of sight.
Anton and Marie (14): Teenage siblings once under the care of Victoria, they creep out Sergei and he's a vampire, banned from ever being turned into vampires by order of Rebecca and Heather, Rebecca still trying to find an appropriate caregiver for them, knows it was her own fault, Sergei lets them torture spies
Countess Diana (20): Bastard child of the former King of Whitemire, has renounced her claim to the throne in return for the title of Countess. The most recently assigned caregiver for Anton and Marie; has no idea what she's getting herself into; definitely a prude; can hear Victoria but can't see her. Rebecca murders her with her bare hands for no stated reason in 782.
Praetor Svetlana (176): Assigned to Whitemire on a permanent basis by the Royal Gilnan Army at the request of Prince Heather. Teaches the rusalki children how to properly hunt and other matters which neither Rebecca nor Heather could. Has grown quite fond of all of Rebecca's children, and talks to Victoria often.
